The team are part of www.newspeak.house and built a successful tech handbook for the UK 2019 election.
What it does
Communities need to talk together but also to work together. We have developed a system that lowers the effort to get the maximum number of people onboard collaborating.
Most collaboration happens serially, Google docs let it happen in parallel.
However, they are not easy to share nor is it easy to have the kind of trivial community building conversations and announcements which make collaboration work.
Many people are trying to solve problems related to coronavirus. They aren’t sharing what they know and they don’t know how to talk to one another, or aren’t thinking to.
Work is being replicated and expertise isn’t shared. Projects which have dependencies don’t happen because they require other projects to succeed.
Working together creates communities which encourage better projects - many people don’t want to work with someone they don’t know or wouldn't’ be motivated to ask or answer questions
How I built it

Challenges I ran into
Google docs was getting too many calls and so we built our own collaboration Docs solution.

What's next for Coronavirus Tech Handbook
We will continue to add different sections as problems surface. We are having 40k visits per day and as we turn up the media engagement we will ensure that the system stays stable for the increase in users.
The Handbook is in 8 languages and we will continue to have it translated into other languages.
