How it Works
This website combines multiple features into one. For example, there is a survey to test if you have coronavirus, there is a news feed that was built with python, and also a search feature to answer any questions
How we Built it
My partner and I built it using Html and python. My partner worked on the front end code, using a template, and modifying it as needed. I used some basic web scraping skills to scrape news feeds from news sources like The New York Times, formatted it, and displayed it on the webpage
Challenges
The major challenge was deciding what to do with the web scraped data. There were many routes that I could've gone. For example, I could have displayed graphs that show different things like the total number of confirmed cases over a period of time.
What we are proud of
I am proud of myself remembering how to web scrape. It was a lot of going back to previous files and trying to figure out how it all works and I am happy that I was able to put it together. My partner would be proud of the work she did with the Html, including the survey and being able to put the framework together.
Next Steps
The next step is to finish the site. We still have one feature to finish and that it the feature that allows you to find the closest care centers based on the zip code
