Inspiration

In the hard times of the COVID-19 pandemic where it is testing the will of nations and the resilience of people around the world. It is a very painful test that continues to take away precious lives in many countries. The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic recession have negatively affected many people’s mental health and created new barriers for people already suffering from mental illness and substance use disorders. People who are unknown with the symptoms of COVID-19 and after COVID effects became our inspiration to build up this project. We had seen many awareness programs related to Covid precautions, vaccination and all things but there is no such awareness program which guides them about the phobia that they have developed due this pandemic outbreak.

What it does

Firstly in our project it will ask about your COVID positive/recovered status and depending on your answer it will help you to reach a solution. Depending upon the answer we divide the patients into two categories namely The Fighter (the one who has not suffered from COVID ) and The Warrior (the one who is either recovered or a positive COVID patient). If you are from the warrior category, then it will help and make you aware about what is post covid, What are its symptoms, remedies of it. If you are from the fighter category, then it will acknowledge you about isolation, early symptoms of COVID, Who needs to isolate. The page of Corona Phobia will charge you with full positive vibes and help to reduce depression and anxiety.(Common for both Fighter and Warrior). At the end, we have made a consultation page which requires certain information to be typed in by the user and we would connect the patient with the doctor and the doctor’s would guide them and help them come out of there problems.

How we built it

We built it with the Stack having PHP, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and JavaScript and of course a lot of hard work😅.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was how to structure our web application.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We presented this project in the Hackathon called “RADIANCE-21” and achieved 1st prize in Web dev Category. Also we are proud that we have built something which would help the general people.

What we learned

While making the website we had to gather a lot of information, for which we read many articles saying about the phobia . We learned that even if people actually know about it, they tend to ignore the fact the phobia is affecting them, like the word “phobia” feels like a negative word to them. Plus, we learned many things about how to design UI in a website.

What's next for Coronaphobia

At present the system needs a person at the back to pass on the information from the database to the doctor and then the doctor would connect with the patient. We are planning to create a Login System for the doctor’s wherein they can see the active patient requests and guide them i.e. we will try to remove the middle man (the person who was passing the information). Additionally, we are also going to create a check for the authentication of the user, say if the person is covid positive/recovered he has to upload his/her covid reports and their vaccination status which will be verified by the system itself so that we have only genuine leads.
