Inspiration

Does it need more inspiration than looking at the lonely streets and scary faces everyday?

What it does

We created a mobile app where a person can create a "symptoms diary". They can insert the daily temperature and the symptoms they feel with the respective intesity. The data is saved in database in the cloud. A public and free API is built for external institutions and developers, so that they can query the data or build complementary applications like Monitoring dashboards for doctors and hospitals, or Machine Learning applications. The data they retrieve is GDPR compliant. No personal information can be retrieved. Only if a user allows it (by communicating its ID) it is possible to retrieve data to a user: Daily Symptoms and general demographic data.

How I built it

Challenges I ran into

Moving from a pure technical view while implementing the mobile application to making a video was a big challenge. Time flies.....

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Grouping up remotely and then still delivering everything in time was a huge accomplishment.

What I learned

Hackathons are fun! Communication is key and meeting should follow certain goals so they can be conducted effectively

What's next for Corona Symptoms as a Service

  • Coverage of households with several members who have different health conditions.
  • Insert Symptoms for other people (like children and old persons)
  • Retrieve further data like Pre-existing conditions or uncategorized symptoms
  • Cooperation with existing and complementary apps and applications so that they can also connect to our "data service". For example with Covapp. So that this app can use the database to not only read but also write data
  • Make the data service and app available for other countries
  • Api Management for public interface.
  • Cooperation with data scientists to design the data endpoints.
