Inspiration

We are inspired to use the mobility of a smartphone to display most accurate and current information, in this case to monitor corona cases surrounding the user.

What it does

The app allows the user to get access to real-time data of corona cases around the user.

How we built it

We built it using android studio, google map api, and Firestore real-time data base.

Challenges we ran into

There were some challenges in developing our app. We ran into problems such as importing a json file containing geocode data of the confirmed coronavirus around the globe. The three of us were familiar with programming languages but it was a first time for us to develop an app with flutter. We took this opportunity to learn (and we learnt a lot!) all about flutter, google cloud APIs and much more.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to see a real-time data update on our phone because we already connected it to the Cloud Storage Firestore API. Our biggest accomplishment was being able to learn how to develop an app (while having fun) in flutter and using the available APIs out there to help make a social impact!

What we learned

We learned to use real-time data update, using Google API's. Also, we learned to use Flutter for the first time.

What's next for Corona Radar

What's next is finding trusted data set of COVID-19 confirmed case location. Adding AI so it can tell the user what should his/her next action is.
