Inspiration

Inspired by experiencing the struggles faced during the COVID Pandemic and how we are able to overcome the CoronaVirus

What it does

This is a single-player video game. This game can be used as a fun and playful learning experience for children to be safe during a pandemic like COVID.

How we built it

This game is built using block programming from scratch.mit.edu.

Challenges we ran into

  1. There was no default image of the mask, so I had to draw the mask.
  2. It was challenging to make PICO invisible and not lose a life when he was hit by a virus while wearing the mask.
  3. Challenges faced making sure the COVID block doesn't move in level3 when I had to make a scene where scientists are developing the vaccine.
  4. It was challenging to upload an Animation of the scientists developing the vaccine.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Proud of creating my first game ever.
  2. Proud that this game can be used as an educational material to teach children to stay safe is most important.

What we learned

  1. Learned how to create games and had a nice introduction to coding.

What's next for Corona Dodger - A Single Player Game

I plan to create more educational games and enhance the Corona Dodger by adding more levels.
