Inspiration
The motivation for this project is current affairs - The Novel Coronavirus. The aim is to pool together information from a wide range of sources, so that people can be more informed on the situtation.
What it does
Provides information on the Novel Coronavirus;
Pure Content Pages
/readings: literature, other learning material on the novel Coronavirus
/economics: - iframe of Shanghai Composite from Yahoo finance;
Data
/forecast: Time series forecast (probably not complete by 1200)
/dashboards: Heatmap of infections rendered in Dash, iframes of dashboards from other sources such as John Hopkins University
/news:: Scrapes data from reputable new sources and presents it in table form
/social_media: Scrapes data from google trends, reddit and presents it in a table form
How I built it
Flask Backend; Bootstrap for styling; Dash for rendering plots; Deployed on Heroku
