Inspiration
Walking down the halls of university, we see a lot of posters disorganized on many different places, making it quite difficult to be aware of the ongoing events around us.
What it does
CorkBoard (Cork for short!) is a place for various student groups to upload posters and consolidates all of these physical and digital posters onto one convenient platform.
How we built it
We built this app using basic templates from Bootstrap and modified the appearance of the site by creating customized HTML, CSS, and assets. For the backend we used Python and Django as the web framework.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was using new tools to implement filters and sign up. Also using new tools, Django and Git for the first time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have a finished viable product which showcases the basic functionalities of the app.
What we learned
We learned a great deal about new software and how to collaborate in a software environment as a team.
What's next for CorkBoard
There are many possibilities for future development! We plan on expanding filtering, adding email notifications and improving UI overall.
