The dog for people who can't have one (yet)
Corgi Club is a virtual pet built on one bet: the corgi should be worth posting. He rolls his own personality the day you adopt him, your real steps are his walkies, his den matches your real weather, and every share you make is a working web page with the actual dog on it.
At a glance
- Platform: iOS and Android. Live on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/corgi-club/id6806023989 and on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chinesepowered.corgi. Web boop pages, invite pages and landing page at https://corgi.chinesepowered.com/.
- Price: free to play; the pet and the care loop are never paywalled. Corgi Club Gold at $4.99/month, $29.99/year with a 7-day free trial, or $49.99 lifetime. Golden Biscuit packs at $1.99, $4.99, $9.99 and $19.99.
- RevenueCat powers: live offerings and localized prices on the paywall, the
goldentitlement behind every perk, restores, real-time lapse handling, and a transaction-id ledger that grants paid biscuits from receipts so a crash or reinstall never eats a purchase. - RevenueCat Ads powers: impression-level tracking for four rewarded placements and one banner, so ad and purchase revenue land in one ledger.
Every share is a working web page
Every corgi is puppy #1 of a litter. Friends don't add friends; they adopt littermates. Your invite link shows a friend the actual next pup before they install anything: visibly related, never identical. The whole corgi travels inside a boop link, rendered server-side, so anyone can boop his nose from the web, and every boop lands in the app as a push written in his voice. The link preview is an OG card with the actual dog on it, wearing his actual hat; "Share as GIF" fetches six frames of him idling. His weekly Corgi Report is built to be posted.
Every corgi rolls his own personality
At adoption he draws two of eight traits (Dramatic, Food Gremlin, Judgy, Himbo, Anxious Icon, Princess, Zoomies, Distinguished Elder), and the pair writes his speech bubbles, weights his idle habits (sploots, loafs, side-eye, the drama collapse) and voices his opt-in notifications. No two corgis on your feed read the same.
Your steps are his walkies
With permission, the phone's step counter becomes his leash: pick a daily goal of 3,000, 5,000, 8,000 or 10,000 steps and your actual day fills his walk ring. Steps past the goal still pay, up to 2×. No pedometer? Honor system: tell him you walked and he believes you.
He never dies, never leaves, never guilts you
Classic tamagotchis trained you with dread, and modern players uninstall dread. Offline decay is capped at eighteen hours; a week away opens on a "while you were away" recap that reads as "he missed you," never "you failed him." A rest day never punishes; he naps. Streak savers exist because life happens; Gold's streak armor covers any gap.
One renderer, everywhere
The corgi is code, not images. A 32-bit seed deterministically becomes a genome (coat, blaze, socks, ear tilt, resting blep tendency), and one shared TypeScript module renders it in the app, on the web boop pages, in link previews and GIFs, on the adoption certificate and in the weekly report. The den runs your real time of day and weather: when it rains on you, it rains on him. Screenshots, landing page, icon, sounds and demo video all regenerate from scripts.
One subscription with a rule: every perk pays daily
Corgi Club Gold removes the banner forever, drops three Golden Biscuits a day, pays 1.5× bones, armors your streak, protects the 7-day reward calendar, and dresses him in two members-only fits. When a subscription lapses, those fits actually come off the corgi. The paid path buys speed and identity, never rescue, because nothing kills the pet. Release builds fail closed: a build without real store keys refuses simulated purchases and hides ad offers instead of handing out free Gold.
Ads users don't hate, in the same ledger as the purchases
Four rewarded placements the user opts into (double a walk's haul, double the daily reward, a bone top-up, one daily biscuit), each capped per day. One banner, framed like a card on two tabs, that Gold deletes. No interstitials, ever; nothing is gated behind an ad. Every impression reports through RevenueCat's ad tracker, because the economy is "attention or money, your choice": a biscuit from an ad and a biscuit from a $1.99 pack are the same biscuit, and that exchange rate is only real if both sides are counted in one place.
No sign-up, ever
No email, no login, no real name. An anonymous cloud save means the corgi survives a lost phone; one tap in Settings deletes everything server-side. Steps never leave the device; location is rounded, used for weather, never stored.
For judges: seeing premium
Install from the App Store or Google Play and adopt a corgi (about a minute). The paywall is the Gold card on the Den or Shop tab, or Settings → "See perks". The annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial ("Start 7 days free"), so nothing is charged. Gold removes the banner immediately, drops 3 biscuits with the daily reward, pays 1.5× bones, armors the streak and unlocks the Gold Chain and Hero Cape in the Shop, previewed on your own corgi. The demo video shows the same flow in its first minute.
