Inspiration
The idea for CopyElement was born out of the frustration with bloated Elementor plugins that slow down websites and complicate the workflow. We wanted to create a fast, clean, plugin-free solution for WordPress users, especially designers, freelancers, and agencies, to help them build websites without dealing with installation-heavy tools or compatibility issues.
What it does
CopyElement offers 100% plugin-free, copy-paste Elementor components and template kits. Users simply copy the component and paste it directly into their Elementor editor — no plugin, no installation, no performance loss. It works with both Elementor Free and Pro and currently has over 3500+ components and 2000+ landing page templates.
How we built it
We built CopyElement using:
- Next.js – for the front-end framework
- Supabase – as our backend and database (auth, storage, and real-time data)
- Bolt.new – as the project starter to bootstrap development quickly and cleanly
The architecture is optimized for performance and scale. Components are stored as JSON files, and dynamic rendering ensures a smooth browsing experience for users.
Challenges we ran into
- Structuring and managing a large volume of JSON-based components
- Ensuring compatibility across Elementor Free and Pro
- Designing with consistency and responsiveness in mind for 3500+ components
- Building a system that stays light, fast, and scalable without using any plugin
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Reaching 3500+ components and 2000+ template kits
- Building a full platform with real-time user authentication, saving, and history without any plugin
- Being adopted by hundreds of Elementor users globally and earning praise for performance and simplicity
- 1000+ Free Tier Users and 150+ Paid Tier Users
- Creating a system that developers, designers, and non-tech users can equally benefit from
What we learned
- The importance of performance-first design in WordPress environments
- Managing large-scale design systems in a structured and searchable format
- Real-world use of Supabase and Next.js to replace more traditional plugin-dependent CMS systems
- The value of user feedback loops to continually improve component structure and categories
