CoPlan

💡 Inspiration

Stress is normal to experience as a college student in terms of academic performance. However, too much stress can be detrimental to their wellness, where combining all requirements for classes can be stressful. The benefits of management tools are to make sure students stay organized with their work and reduce some stress off their minds as they manage tasks they need to complete for each class requirement. To meet the needs of college students, we decided to accommodate them by designing a management tool for students to organize their workflows and create a schedule when they plan to complete their tasks on a specific date.

💻 What it does

When assigned a group project, users can use this platform to add their members to join their workspace where each member can collaborate on a whiteboard by using sticky notes to plan tasks each member will be responsible to complete. The platform also allows users to create a calendar where they can add events to the calendar to have an overview of when they plan to complete their tasks.

Next Js: For full-stack web app
Node Js and Express Js: For backend
MongoDB: For database
Adobe XD: For prototyping

🧠 Challenges we ran into

We didn’t have time to add all the features in the design mockups to the development due to time constraints.
Building a full-stack application in this short frame of time.

🏅 Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some accomplishments that we’re proud of are managing to handle two things; the development and the design by splitting into tag-teams where two members focused to tackle each challenge.
During our assigned tasks we maintained communication in the team and shared our progress to update our members.

📖 What we learned

It's okay if we didn't get where we planned to with this project. Prototypes, applications, websites are always updating/upgrading, there's not an end, only more room to keep improving and learning along the way.

🚀 What's next for CoPlan

With more time, we would like to improve the user experience by adding more features to the platform for better interaction with the product such as a way for users to upload their files, and include a chat feature where users can interact with each other when brainstorming together on workflows.
