Inspiration
We were inspired by encouraging kids to learn more and hopefully take more interest in STEM, based on our own experiences and interactions.
What it does
The website has different pages with different activities that introduce kids to each part of STEM respectively. Each page features different information and activities over what the different fields are, and include interactive features to draw in more interest.
How we built it
We used CSS, JavaScript and HTML to code this site.
Challenges we ran into
Since this is our first time properly developing a website from scratch, we ran into challenges including formatting and styling the website properly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating different functions including responsive images at a click of a button and a front-page slideshow. This was also most of our team's first hackathon, so we believe we did accomplish some cool things with the time and knowledge we had and gained.
What we learned
We learned how to create interactive web pages and using JavaScript to provide functionality to elements.
What's next for coolSTEM
We hope to expand on the pages and add more features to draw more interest, and refine current functions.
