Inspiration
ASCII games, especially Candy Box, inspired us on this mission to create Cookie Village Quest.
What it does
This experience of a journey allows players to play the life of a hero who saves the land of Cookie Village.
How we built it
We built this project using ASCII art through HTML, along with JavaScript and CSS to implement player interactions with the environment.
Challenges we ran into
A main challenge we ran into was code-sharing. Working together on a collaborative channel was helpful, but efficiently updating the code to match the most up-to-date code was a difficult obstacle to overcome.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are all proud of the original ASCII art we created, and using that to transform the world of Cookie Village!
What we learned
Through this mission to create another world, we learned that collaboration is crucial to a team's success. Talking with your team members is essential to make the most of creating the project of your ambitions. Teamwork makes the dream work!
What's next for Cookie Village Quest
In the future for Cookie Village Quest, we seek to expand the world of the Cookie world for the hero to explore and grasp more of, and we are excited to add many more challenges for the hero to face!
How does Cookie Village Quest adhere to Technica's mission of narrowing the gender gap in the tech industry and diversifying the tech field by empowering underrepresented genders?
To diversify the world of Cookie Land, we were inspired by Technica's goal to help represent underrepresented groups, so we made all cookies in Cookie Village sweet, unique, and different!
