As college students, we often find ourselves missing the warmth and wisdom of Grandma's cooking. We yearned for a recipe guide that wasn't just a dump of text but a visual companion that could guide us through each step, much like how Grandma would explain it, with patience and love 🥰. That's where the idea for CookEasy was born – to transform traditional recipe reading into an interactive, visual experience 📚 ➡️ 🎥.

What it does 🍳📱

CookEasy is a game-changer in the kitchen! It's not just any recipe app; it's your visual culinary guide . With CookEasy, you get step-by-step recipes, a detailed list of ingredients, and, most importantly, pictures for each step, making it incredibly easy to follow along and cook delicious meals 🥘📸.

How we built it 💻

I built CookEasy using AWS PartyRock, leveraging its capability to generate text and images 🛠️. By harnessing the power of Bedrock foundational models, the app dynamically creates visual recipes based on user input or chosen dishes. This was my first dive into using PartyRock, and it was exhilarating to see how it could transform simple text input into a rich, visual cooking guide 🌟.

Challenges we ran into 🤔

The primary challenge was familiarizing myself with PartyRock and understanding how to best utilize its text and image generation capabilities for our specific use case. It took some trial and error to fine-tune the prompts and ensure that the generated content met our expectations in terms of relevance and clarity. I also had to ensure that the prompts for image generation took into account the pictures generated in previous steps 💡.

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🏆

I'm incredibly proud of how intuitive and user-friendly CookEasy turned out to be! The fact that we could build a functional and visually appealing app in such a short time frame using AWS PartyRock is a testament to the platform's power and versatility. Seeing the app generate clear, concise, and visually engaging recipe guides is truly rewarding 🎉.

What we learned 📚

Through this project, I gained valuable experience with AWS PartyRock and the underlying Bedrock foundational models. I learned how to create effective prompts to generate the desired output and how to integrate text and image generation to create a comprehensive and interactive user experience 💡.

What's next for CookEasy 🚀🚀

The journey doesn't end here for CookEasy! I plan to expand our recipe database, introduce more customization options, and enhance the visual aspect even further. I'm also looking into incorporating user feedback and suggestions to make CookEasy the go-to app for anyone looking for an easy, fun, and visually engaging cooking experience 🌟.
