Convert Original Hand Illustrated Art into 3D Digital NFT
Bridging the gap between traditional art and the digital world anchored by nature. My traditional hand illustrated botanical art done in ink on paper has been transformed piece by piece into 3D art.

Inspiration - I am a traditional painter and my work is focused on nature but always had a fantasy edge. I was interested in keeping the romance of traditional fine art painting alive by transforming my original hand illustrated fantasy paintings focused on botanical themes into animated 3D art. The emotive connection already captured by the viewer in the static work comes alive as the work starts with my traditional painting then transforms into an animated piece before your eyes. It is hauntingly beautiful as the leaves and elements seem to move with the wind, and the representation of the stones and pebbles seem to fall away into the abyss, into the cyber world where there are limitless possibilities. As the old world seems to fall away paving the way for the new digital world, we all remain inextricably connected through nature.
What it does: Each one of my creations starts with the original painting done by hand in ink on paper then transforms into an animated rendered 3D piece of digital art.
How we built it: My original painting took over a month to hand illustrate meticulously in ink on cotton paper. This became the foundation for us to build and model piece by piece to slowly recreate the original in as near to true form.
Challenges we ran into: The challenges were not only the time we took in this build but trying to capture the colours and tones of an original painting done by hand and recreate it into something rendered and animated as close as possible to the original.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: I did not want to loose the emotive feeling you get when you are standing in a gallery looking at one of my very large scale paintings in this collection, when it then was converted to a 3D animated piece of digital art. I am very proud that we have managed to keep and enhance that very human reaction you have when you view this piece staying true to the traditional fine art.
What we learned: To take the time to honour the original foundation piece and not to rush this process just like the original fine art painting that was created. The moulding and building out of this took a great amount of time. Although this process was very time consuming to get the truest representation we could, it has now helped us create subsequent pieces from my fine art to help to build out my collection once the original frame work has been formulated.
