Inspiration
This is my first hackathon and my first time coding, before this I had no idea how to write a single line of code, and since learning through this hackathon, I decided challenge my new knowledge and make some sort of calculator.
What it does
My calculator can calculate metric and imperial distances, the current measurement units are inches, feet, yards, miles, millimeters, centimeters, and kilometers
How we built it
I asked the user to input the number, unit, and desired unit they wanted and used if-then code to perform a multiplication equation to convert to the desired unit
Challenges we ran into
I ran into the challenge of having to input many lines of code to account for all of the conversion equations that are needed but eventually I figured out to use copy-paste to finish much faster
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of the finished design because I think it works really well for basic calculations, and it can also convert really small measurements to really large measurements
What we learned
I learned that coding isn't as hard as people make it out to be, and can be pretty fun if you put in the effort to learn it.
What's next for Conversion Calculator
I'd like to improve on it by adding more measurements so it can do even more functions and in doing so improve at coding.
