Inspiration
We wanted to find a way to help people manage their finances in a simple way. We were inspired by Wealthsimple which has an interface which is easy to use. For that reason we decided to do a simple design that gives advice when you click on each category.
What it does
Our web application is designed for users to have a financial companion throughout their financial journey. Sunny bot keeps track of a users finances and suggest financial advise with the use of artificial intelligence. The AI model keeps track of the users income, assets, portfolio, etc. to help the user's financial health.
How we built it
Sunnybot uses python to implement the backend and React and javascript to implement the frontend. It uses DeepSink's open source LLM to display a working chatbox. Mongodb Atlas was used to store user's personal and financial information.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges we ran into were connecting the backend to the frontend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Implementing the LLM and displaying it to the user.
What we learned
We learned the overall process of developing a web application. We received hands on experience with frontend, backend, API and large language model. In terms of frontend, we practice with React and javascript. With python, we learned how to connect to a cloud database, write necessary queries to fetch the user's information and perform calculations to display the necessary values on the frontend. The LLM used was deepsink's open source model. We also learned how to create an API to feed the frontend with the information from the backend.
What's next for Sunny Bot
Train the LLM so that it gives better and more personalized responses.
