Inspiration
Our team was inspired by the idea of creating a project that could be used in a variety of applications, ranging from advertising billboards to interactive art installations. We wanted to control a large LED matrix with the help of a microcontroller and display dynamic graphics and animations. Learning
During the planning phase, we learned about the technical details of LED matrices and how to control them. We researched different microcontrollers and chose Arduino as it is widely available and has a large community for support. Building the project
We sourced the necessary components, including an LED matrix, an Arduino board, wires, and a power supply. We connected the LED matrix to the Arduino and wrote the code to display basic graphics and animations.
However, during testing, we found out that the code provided to us by the organizers was flawed and the LEDs wouldn't light up. We spent hours trying to debug the code and went through various online forums for help, but nothing seemed to work. The challenge
At this point, we were almost ready to give up. We were running out of time and didn't know what to do. But then we decided to take a step back and look at the problem from a different perspective. We realized that the issue was not with the hardware or the code but with the way we were interpreting the instructions.
We decided to rewrite the code from scratch and simplified the instructions, breaking them down into smaller steps. We also divided the tasks among the team members, with each one focusing on a specific aspect of the project.
After a few hours of hard work, we finally managed to make the LEDs light up. It was a moment of triumph for the team as we had overcome a major obstacle and had created a functional LED matrix display. Conclusion
The LED matrix hackathon project was a great learning experience for the team. We learned about the technical details of LED matrices and how to control them with the help of a microcontroller. We also learned the importance of perseverance and teamwork when faced with challenges.
Although we faced a major setback during the project, we didn't give up and managed to push through and make the LEDs light up. It was a great feeling of accomplishment, and we were proud of what we had achieved as a team.
