Inspiration

Mental Health is a global issue. Every year millions of people suffer from it knowingly or unknowingly. Some ask for help, some don't whatever may be the reason. Usually what people with mental health issues look for is help, but with privacy. They are afraid to talk about their issues with others. The best help they can get is from those people who have been in their shoes. But finding that people is a challenge.

What it does

So this website contributeformind helps people with mental health problems find required helps on various platforms which are shown categorically. By which he/she doesn't have to look for random NGO sites and ask for help. He/she can simply visit contributeformind and find it. We have made this website looking towards the idea that every person can contribute to it. Like if software devs want to help out then they may contribute to GitHub repo's mentioned or answer questions on listed Reddit pages.

How we built it

I have built this website using Node.js, HTML, CSS. I have taken static data from various online sources.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was finding active communities that are helping people with mental health issues. Also finding organizations where we can volunteer and help others.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to create a single source of information for people who want to know about mental health issues. Here we have covered almost every kind of source from youtube videos to blogs to Reddit posts.

What we learned

We learned that finding help is not easy. Especially finding someone who cares about our privacy is most important for people having mental health issues. So we have provided such data which cares for their privacy.

What's next for ContributeForMind

We are planning to gather more efficient, good quality, verified data for websites so that people need not read to search for random pages on the internet if they want to know about mental health or are looking for help. They can just visit our site.
