CONTRACTIQ Inspiration Every day, people sign employment contracts, rental agreements, insurance policies, NDAs, and service agreements without fully understanding what they are agreeing to. Legal documents are often lengthy, filled with complex terminology, and difficult for non-lawyers to interpret.

We wanted to build an AI-powered assistant that makes contracts understandable for everyone. Instead of replacing legal professionals, CONTRACTIQ helps users identify potential risks, understand legal language, and make informed decisions before signing.

What it does CONTRACTIQ is an AI-powered contract intelligence platform that helps users analyze legal documents in seconds.

Users can upload a contract in PDF format, and the application:

Summarizes the entire document in simple language. Explains complex legal terminology. Identifies risky clauses and hidden obligations. Assigns an overall risk score. Highlights important sections that require attention. Suggests questions users should consider before signing. Provides an AI chatbot that answers questions about the uploaded contract. The goal is to improve transparency and help users understand contracts with confidence.

How we built it The application was built using a modern full-stack architecture.

User uploads a contract. The backend extracts the document text. Gemini analyzes the content. The AI generates: Summary Risk analysis Clause explanations Overall risk score Results are displayed through an interactive dashboard. Challenges we ran into One of the biggest challenges was designing prompts that consistently produced structured and reliable contract analysis.

We also worked on:

Handling large documents efficiently. Presenting legal information in a simple, user-friendly way. Designing an interface that makes AI-generated insights easy to understand. Balancing detailed analysis with quick response times was another important challenge.

What's next for CONTRACTIQ Our roadmap includes several exciting improvements:

OCR support for scanned contracts. Comparison between multiple versions of contracts. Clause-by-clause negotiation suggestions. Support for multiple languages. Industry-specific contract templates. Digital signature integration. Secure cloud storage with contract history. Enterprise collaboration features for legal teams. Our vision is to make CONTRACTIQ an intelligent assistant that helps individuals and businesses understand contracts before they sign them.
