Inspiration: As a freelancer, I’ve often felt the "legal anxiety" that comes with signing a new contract. Most of us can't afford a lawyer for every $500 project, so we sign documents hoping there aren't any hidden traps. I wanted to build a tool that acts as a first line of defense something that translates "legalese" into plain English warnings and helps professionals protect their time and money.

What it does: Contract Guardian is an AI-powered workspace where users can paste any legal agreement to receive an instant risk assessment. It identifies Red Flags like missing late fees, unfair ownership transfers, or predatory non-compete clauses. It provides Strategic Advice on how to negotiate better terms. It includes an Integrated Invoice Generator so that once the contract is understood, the user can immediately pivot to getting paid.

How I built it: I built this entire application using MeDo, a conversational no-code platform. The Interface: I used natural language prompts to design a professional, minimalist React dashboard with a sidebar navigation and a dual-panel results display. The Intelligence: I integrated MeDo’s AI capabilities to analyze complex legal text and categorize risks vs. advice. The Backend: I leveraged MeDo’s full-stack generation to handle text processing and PDF generation for the invoicing feature.

Challenges we ran into: The biggest challenge was "Prompt Engineering" the logic for the dual-panel display. I had to iterate on the requirements to ensure the AI didn't just summarize the contract, but specifically looked for missing clauses (like what happens if a client doesn't pay on time), which is often more important than what is actually written.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: I am incredibly proud of the fact that I went from "no idea" to a fully deployed, functional full-stack application in a single day. Achieving a professional-grade UI that actually processes real-world data without writing a single line of manual code felt like a superpower.

What we learned: I learned that the future of development is shifting toward Intent-Based Building. Instead of worrying about syntax and bugs, I was able to focus entirely on the user experience and the problem I was solving. I also gained a much deeper understanding of the common "legal traps" found in freelance agreements.

What's next for Contract Guardian: I plan to add a "Contract Template Library" where users can generate safe, pre-vetted contracts from scratch. I also want to implement "History Tracking" so freelancers can save their previous scans and see how their negotiation power improves over time.
