Inspiration

Young athletes often sign complex, high-value contracts without legal support, putting their rights, earnings, and future opportunities at risk. We wanted to create an AI tool that helps athletes understand deals before committing.

What it does

ContractCoach analyzes sports contracts, detects risky clauses, explains legal terms in simple language, and provides AI-powered guidance through an interactive chat experience.

How we built it

We built ContractCoach with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind for the interface, combined with Gemini’s multimodal AI to analyze PDFs and identify risks using a sports-law-focused taxonomy.

Challenges we ran into

Understanding complex legal language, identifying subtle contract risks, and providing useful explanations while avoiding oversimplification were major challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created an AI-powered contract review assistant that helps athletes quickly identify red flags, understand their agreements, and make more informed decisions.

What we learned

We learned that AI can make specialized knowledge more accessible by translating complex documents into clear, actionable insights for everyday users.

What's next for Contract Coach

We plan to expand contract analysis capabilities, improve industry benchmarks, support more sports agreements, and build a stronger athlete-focused legal intelligence platform.
