Inspiration

Contract work is never easy, almost always over budget and takes way longer than expected.

What it does

With our app a general contractor would be able to schedule tasks, automate workloads and forecast cost and time data based on their area. Flow based project management.

How we built it

Using React jsx and accompanying libraries we build a responsive web app. Backend work used Jason data and REST api's for data handling.

Challenges we ran into

JSX and npm dependancy breaks, time shortage and lack of experience in certain areas.

What's next for ContraCore

Development on personal time and possible deployment.

I built the back end endpoints, setup the database and allowed for the back end to fetch data from the database. This was done using MongoDB for the database, express for handling the endpoint requests and mongoose to setup the models for the Users and Projects.

I also worked on the front end in building the register page, helping implement the login page to react and navigation page.
For each of the pages, I setup the state, reducer and context to allow multiple pages to have access to the same functions. This also allowed for the different components to have access to the different variables that would be updated through user input and used globally. For certain states that wouldn't be used by > 1 component, I updated their state locally to prevent redundant memory usage.
