Inspiration

Everyone has their strengths but sometimes, you just need someone else to handle a task you can’t (or don’t want to) do.

Control My Cursor came out of raw frustration trying to get things done in Unity. What I really needed was someone to take over my screen and finish the job, and there was no easy way to make it happen. So I built it myself.

What It Does

Post a task, and someone completes it directly on your machine.
Claiming a task shows a remote access code for the worker to complete the requirements while the session is monitored.

You describe what you need and set a price. A remote helper accepts the task, receives a secure access code, and follows the instructions. Meanwhile, a neutral third-party “Lookout” monitors the session and can end it immediately if anything suspicious happens. They get a cut of the payment for staying vigilant.

There are so many times you just need someone else to put the finishing touches on a project, and unlike other task platforms you are not waiting for files to upload or response times, you are simply letting someone more experience step and and do the work in exchange for payment.

Control My Cursor lets someone do work for you on your machine using already built in remote ability, blurring the technical knowledge into a easy to understand workflow that lets you turn things you need done into things that are finished.

How We Built It

Control My Cursor was built entirely using Bolt.new!

Challenges

You might see claims of thousands of tasks completed but that’s just the AI being very optimistic.

the largest challenge comes from the core of the platform remote access. This is largely a technical thing to do, with the ability hidden away in menus of the computer. Other programs exist to make remote control easier but there's limits to their use in commercial setting. it's a balance of how to complete the goal (remote access) for every task in a easy way. However I feel this is something that will naturally evolve.

Letting someone access your screen has its risk. That’s why Lookouts exist: real people monitoring each session, ready to shut it down the moment something goes wrong.

Accomplishments

This is a working prototype of a tool I’d actually use myself. It solves a real problem without over complicating the solution. I'm quite proud of how the final version turned out a ready to depploy SAS that can make a difference.

What We Learned

This is my first project attempting to use Vibe coded tools and it was a fun experince that makes me excited for what the future brings.

What’s Next for Control My Cursor

  • Establish a plan to use existing remote tools. Curently the platform walks you though using RDP and remote support but it would be great to have the support from a existing remote company which could allow for even easier support in a click.

-Build out trust features and user ratings
Users should have a profile, but this was put on the backed for deployment. Eventually there would be a feedback system in place, as well as automatic rules.
