Inspiration
AI-clone and digital-double consent is a contract category that barely existed five years ago, and studios have no active system watching whether production and marketing usage stays inside it.
What it does
Continuity is an always-on "clearance producer." It reads talent contracts, dubbing scripts, and campaign plans; extracts every AI-likeness / synthetic- voice / digital-double consent clause into a structured rights ledger; and checks every planned use against that ledger — returning CLEARED, BLOCKED, or NEEDS_REVIEW with the exact clause cited as evidence, plus concrete remediation options for blocked or ambiguous uses. Every decision is logged to an append-only governance trail for legal/studio audit.
How we built it
Six-agent pipeline (Ingestor, Clause Miner, Policy Compiler, Usage Monitor, Remediation, Governance), reasoning powered by Gemini via google-genai and google-adk on Vertex AI, deployed on Cloud Run. Built using IBM Bob throughout development — see .bob-dev-log/ in the repo.
Challenges we ran into
Disambiguating overlapping consent labels (e.g. a clause extracted as "AI voice clone" that actually covers dubbing rights) required moving compliance decisions from rigid rule-matching into a Gemini reasoning step that judges relevance by what a clause actually authorizes.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully orchestrated a complex, six-agent pipeline and deployed it securely to Google Cloud Run using Vertex AI for production-grade reliability. We are especially proud of how our system bridges the gap between rigid legal text and real-world studio workflows—our agent doesn't just flag compliance failures, it actively reasons about the substance of a clause and automatically generates actionable remediation steps (like drafting territory-expansion emails) when a planned use is blocked.
What we learned
Gemini reliably extracts structured, citable clauses from dense contract language — but compliance decisions need the source citation kept attached at every step so a human can verify the reasoning, not just at extraction.
What's next for Continuity - AI Likeness & Consent Continuity Agent
Multi-contract conflict resolution when two agreements for the same talent partially overlap, and direct DAM/asset-management integrations.
