The Problem: Organizations Should Not Forget When People Leave
Every organization accumulates valuable knowledge through decisions, projects, meetings, reports, and daily operations. Yet much of this knowledge remains scattered across folders, documents, and the personal working habits of individual employees and leaders.
When a commissioner, director, CEO, department head, or key employee leaves, their successor often has to reconstruct the organization's history from scratch. Important decisions lose their context, ongoing work becomes difficult to trace, and unresolved issues may be overlooked.
This is not just an administrative problem. It is a continuity problem.
Our Inspiration
Continuity AI was inspired by a recurring challenge in public institutions and large organizations: leadership changes are inevitable, but institutional knowledge should not disappear with them.
Organizations such as election commissions, government agencies, universities, and corporations need a practical way to preserve the knowledge behind their work and make it accessible to the people who take over.
We believe that a handover should not begin when someone leaves. It should be prepared continuously as part of everyday work.
Our Solution
Continuity AI is an institutional memory and handover assistant designed for UGREEN AI NAS.
It transforms authorized organizational documents into structured, traceable knowledge. Its core workflows are:
- Capture: Extract relevant information from incoming documents and meeting records.
- Organize: Identify decisions, projects, responsibilities, tasks, issues, and supporting evidence.
- Reconstruct: Connect related information across documents to help users understand the history and context of organizational work.
- Handover: Generate structured leadership transition reports, including active projects, pending decisions, unresolved issues, important deadlines, critical documents, and knowledge gaps.
A key principle is evidence-first intelligence: important findings should be traceable to their source documents. Missing information must be reported as unverified, never presented as fact.
How We Built It
We designed Continuity AI as a UGREEN AI NAS Skill using the Uliya Skill Development framework. The initial Skill package includes its SKILL.md entry point and supporting references for evidence records, handover reports, and validation scenarios.
The design focuses on supported file, document, and knowledge workflows rather than introducing unsupported background services or external runtimes. The initial package has passed static checks; live validation on UGREEN AI NAS remains part of the next development stage.
What We Learned and Our Challenges
The biggest challenge is not simply extracting information from documents. It is preserving context, distinguishing verified facts from missing evidence, and connecting decisions to the work that follows.
We learned that institutional continuity requires more than document storage or generic summarization. It requires traceability, careful handling of uncertainty, and a workflow that people can use as part of their daily routines.
Our goal is simple: make organizational knowledge survive leadership changes, so every successor can continue the work without starting from zero.
