Inspiration: ContentShortcut was inspired by tools like Perplexity for AI-powered search and n8n for powerful workflow automation. The idea came from seeing how time-consuming and repetitive content marketing tasks can be for creators and businesses. I wanted to build a solution that could automate these processes and produce high-quality content using AI.

What it does: ContentShortcut automates content marketing tasks by generating blog posts, social media content, and other marketing materials with the help of AI. Users can input their goals or topics, and the system creates relevant, engaging content. It leverages automation (via n8n) and AI (inspired by Perplexity) to streamline the entire content creation workflow.

How we built it: I built ContentShortcut using Svelte for the frontend, Visual Studio Code as the development environment, and GitHub Copilot to assist with coding. The backend workflows and automation were powered by n8n, allowing seamless integration of tasks. I also experimented with Perplexity to fetch and process information, which enriched the AI-generated content with relevant insights.

Challenges we ran into: One of the biggest challenges was ensuring the AI generated high-quality, relevant, and engaging content. Tuning prompts, managing context, and avoiding generic outputs took a lot of iteration. Additionally, integrating multiple tools into a smooth workflow and maintaining a clean user experience required careful planning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: I'm particularly proud of how ContentShortcut automates entire content marketing pipelines using n8n. Being able to go from a simple user input to published content—automatically—is something I’m excited about. It’s not just a writing tool; it’s a smart content assistant.

What we learned: I learned how to use Perplexity effectively to enrich AI content with relevant data and insights. I also gained more hands-on experience in automating tasks with n8n, building with Svelte, and collaborating with AI tools like Copilot for rapid development.

What's next for ContentShortcut: Next, I plan to add more features, such as:

Direct integration with social media platforms (e.g., auto-posting to LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram)

Custom brand voice settings

Performance analytics for content

And possibly a collaborative mode for teams.
