Inspiration

Simon landed in SF 3 weeks ago with a simple goal in mind: create content to build his personal brand. He started a daily challenge of posting everyday, telling about his life in SF. But posting everyday is difficult if if, at the same time, you have to worry about meeting the right people. He ended up spending more time on editing and scripting than actually living his life here. Compound solves this problem.

What it does

Compound is the tool that will turn you into the content creator you always wanted to be. Input your Linkedin, share one of your hot takes and we generate a script that's personalized to you. The only thing we ask you to do is record yourself saying that script and we take care of the rest. We remove pauses, background noises, add subtitles and a cool music and give you a video you can post on your socials right after.

How we built it

We got the idea 2 days ago while Simon was doing his daily editing. I (Hugo) have always wanted to build my personal brand but it's difficult to find the time to actually do it alongside my engineer job at a YC Startup.

Challenges we ran into

Battling with ffmpeg for subtitles, getting a good system prompt to make good video script, making a good mobile app that would make the process seamless

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a product we are gonna use ourselves everyday and that we want to spend more time working on!

What's next for Compound

Getting the product out, getting users and turning that into a real company. From just talking to people at the hackathon we already have 20+ interested who want to use the product
