Inspiration

I wanted to build a version of a contact desktop maze game, with the chance to emulate the gameplay of an exhilarating experience for people from all ages and backgrounds. I wished to not only test out my skills as a game developer but also stimulate interest in similar puzzle games among potential users, providing endless entertainment for family and friends.

What it does

The maze game operates on contact tracing to pass through all of its levels. Specifically, a player must navigate using the tip of their cursor through a series of winding puzzle mazes to reach a red goal square from the start position near the top left corner of the game screen. There is a white area that the player can move through and a surrounding grey area that the cursor cannot pass through. If the cursor tip touches any part of the grey area, the player must restart the level and then try again. The faster a player moves through each maze, the more points they can get throughout the game.

How we built it

Much of the game's infrastructure was built upon React Native, which served as the foundational framework. The rendering of the screens and maze layouts as well as other key assets was built using JavaScript as the development language.
