Inspiration
Seeing the weather right in front of you when planning out your life can be extremely helpful. Imagine you're a photographer getting ready for your dog portrait photoshoot and all of a sudden, a pixelated gray cloud looms over your weather forecast app, leaving you and the fluffy subjects in the rain. With an application like Conscious Calendar, the photographer will no longer have to take a rain check and instead plan photoshoots that align with the ever-changing weather.
What it does
The app does what it's named, it "calendates". A calendar that allows users to plan ahead without worrying about having to take a rain check. The calendar displays a 7-day weather forecast for the selected city to aid with planning in spite of intense rain and harsh UV rays (which is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum fyi)
How we built it
React, Node, HTML, CSS , Javascript, Figma, OpenWeather API
Challenges we ran into
We over scoped the project, the date was difficult to work with, time limit (We didn’t sleep), scheduling w/ team, and difficulties with being new to hackathons
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built interactive calendar from scratch, created a welcoming user interface, and integrated weather API with our design
What we learned
We need to scoop out our project to not overestimate our capability given the time constraints.
What's next for Conscious Calendar
Estimate destination arrival time, give information regarding a country/state covid travel restriction, CRUD operation for events handled smoothly, alert system for bad weather or traffic, and login authentication.
