Connectpur

Inspiration

The idea was born after a discussion with a small farmer named Muhammad Mustak in late 2022. He told us about the challenges that they face at daily basis, from lack of access to information to rate disparity in various markets. These issues then motivated us to create a platform that bridges the gap in agriculture value chain making a connected ecosystem.

What it does

Connectpur's platform connects farmers and agribusinesses in the value chain, with the aim of increasing access to information, markets, and inputs.

How we built it

A intuitive web and mobile interface designed especially for the farmers with minimal technical expertise. We have built our platform to be available in English and Urdu language to ensure ease of use.

Challenges we ran into

The major challenge that we faced was of building the trust between farmers and users to adopt this technology.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have received recognition from multiple national and international institutions including katalyst labs, GSEA by Entrepreneur's Organisation and National Idea Bank. We have also received Social Entrepreneur of Year 2023 for our work on connectpur.

What we learned

We have learned about the importance of building trust in the agriculture community and how can technology be used to create a great impact in community.

What's next for Connectpur

We are looking to add new features to our project like crop advisory and farm management. We are also looking to expand to new regions to increase its impact.
