Inspiration
ConnectProIA was inspired by a common problem in everyday life: when people need a professional for a service, they often do not know where to look.
For services like plumbing, electrical work, locksmiths, physical therapy, home repairs, and many other local needs, people usually search in Facebook groups, ask relatives, or depend on informal recommendations. This process is slow, fragmented, and unreliable.
At the same time, many skilled professionals and tradespeople want to grow their businesses, earn extra income, or become independent entrepreneurs, but they do not have a platform designed specifically to showcase services. Facebook Marketplace works well for products, but it is not built for service discovery, understanding customer problems, or matching people with the right professional.
That gap inspired ConnectProIA.
What it does
ConnectProIA helps users connect with local professionals using AI.
A user can describe their problem in natural language, and the platform analyzes the request, identifies the type of service needed, and helps match the user with a professional who can solve it.
Instead of manually searching through social media posts or asking multiple people for recommendations, users can simply explain what they need. ConnectProIA turns that need into a structured service request and guides them toward the right provider.
For professionals, the platform creates a place where they can present their services, receive qualified leads, and connect with customers who are actively looking for help.
How we built it
We built ConnectProIA as an AI-powered service connection platform.
The system includes backend services, lead flow logic, professional catalogs, service classification, automation checks, admin tools, and documented customer journeys. The AI layer helps understand the user’s problem, extract the intent, and route the request toward the correct service category or professional.
We focused on building more than a chatbot. The goal was to create a practical workflow where AI helps structure the conversation, reduce friction, and support the connection between users and service providers.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was handling real-world user requests. People do not always describe problems in a structured way. A user might say something vague like “my bathroom is leaking” or “the power keeps going out,” and the platform needs to understand what kind of professional may be needed.
Another challenge was designing flows that are simple for users but still useful for professionals. The system needs enough information to qualify the request without making the experience feel long or complicated.
We also had to think about flexibility. The platform needs to support many different service categories, from trades like plumbing and electricity to professional services like physical therapy, while keeping the matching logic coherent.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of building a product that addresses a real local problem with practical AI.
ConnectProIA does not use AI just to generate text. It uses AI to understand needs, organize information, and help people take action. That makes the product useful for both sides: users looking for trusted help and professionals looking for real business opportunities.
We are also proud of creating a foundation that can grow across many service categories and support local professionals who may not have access to advanced digital tools.
What we learned
We learned that AI is most powerful when it is connected to a clear workflow.
A good answer is useful, but a complete experience needs context, state, routing, guardrails, and a clear next step. Building ConnectProIA taught us that the real value is not only in understanding what the user says, but in helping transform that request into an actionable service opportunity.
We also learned how important it is to design for real human behavior. People describe problems in messy ways, professionals have different availability and specialties, and local service discovery depends heavily on trust.
What's next for ConnectProIA
Next, we want to improve the matching engine, add more service categories, and make the professional profiles more complete.
We also plan to add stronger verification, reputation, and review features so users can make better decisions when choosing a professional. Another important next step is improving the automation around bookings, follow-ups, and lead management for service providers.
Our long-term vision is for ConnectProIA to become a trusted AI-powered marketplace for local services, helping people find the right professional faster while helping skilled workers grow their businesses.
