Inspiration
Water is fairly scarce these days, and it has come to the point to where the amount of times it rains is alarming. Judging by these circumstances, our team decided to do something about it, to make statistics of water in their areas visible to everyone.
What it does
The project collects information from water officials and publishes it to the public for everyone to view.
How we built it
We built it utilizing various technologies, including HTML, CSS, and PHP. We have also used SQL in the process of creating databases.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a couple of challenges in developing the PHP code, as well as getting the public server to run as we wish.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the login screen that we have built, as well as the form that redirects straight away to the public information.
What we learned
We've learned about new technologies, but also how to deal with countless problems.
What's next for Connecting Drought Areas to the World
As far as our project goes, we wish to expand upon the system. To start off, create a working sign-up page, as well as clean up the beginning section a little more (such as the login page). We would like to create an API for the site, so more people can view the public data, and even include a CSV file for people to download.
