Inspiration

The story of connectED begins far from the bustling city centers, in the quiet villages where millions of Nigerians face a daily struggle: limited access to reliable information. Crucial updates on health, education, and finance often get lost in the unreliable internet or never reach them at all. This lack of knowledge can have devastating consequences. Misinformation spreads easily, opportunities are missed, and critical decisions are made without the full picture.

We witnessed this firsthand. We saw the frustration and the missed opportunities that stemmed from information simply not reaching the people who needed it most. This sparked the fire within us to create connectED.

Our inspiration comes from a deep desire to empower Nigerian communities. We believe that with access to reliable information, individuals can make informed choices about their health, education, finances, and future. connectED is about fostering trust, engagement, and ultimately, a brighter future for all Nigerians.

What it does

connectED is more than just a platform; it's a bridge. We're building a connection between the reliable information sources and the communities that need it most. Through our SMS gateway and interactive platform, we ensure that everyone, regardless of internet access, receives timely updates and has the opportunity to ask questions and get clear, personalized answers.

How we built it

ConnectED was built in a way that NGOs and government agencies can upload documents over the platforms dashboard and control the dissemination while the population can interact with it, with the help of ConnectED's AI.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges we faced includes the survey in validating the problem, making choices of the right technology to use and assembling the right team.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely excited in building a solution that answers to our people's major problem which has gained us an invitation to an incubation program organized by JICA

What we learned

We learned that building a platform for a community with varying levels of technical literacy required a unique approach. This led to the development of the SMS gateway, ensuring everyone could access information.

What's next for ConnectED

The future of ConnectED is bright. We are seeking partnerships with NGOs and government agencies to expand the range of information available on the platform. Our ultimate goal is to see ConnectED become an indispensable tool for every Nigerian village, ensuring everyone has access to the information they need to thrive.
