Inspiration:
Community connect with trained NCC/NSS volunteers for remote locations during disasters. A member being a NCC cadet herself was a great motivation and it seems how difficult it is for people to connect with NCC/NDRF.
What it does:
It's an idea that will help us to make connection between Victims of a disaster and NCC/NDRF team. We can create a portal where victims can contact NCC/NDRF teams through offline medium(SMS/Emergency call system) It provides: Before hand Alert Signs where we can tie up and detect disastrous issues that are predictable. Estimated Areas- Basis of location I. e. Near water body, hilly region etc Epicenter- main location of disaster- fastest help and service will be provided Turbulence level- level of destruction determined for forces to bring supplies accordingly.
It connects NCC/NDRF to their nearest units: GPS to nearest NCC troop Trackable estimation of their location Chat Room (btw department and ncc/ndrf) Alert Sent (contact between 2 departments) Evacuation Drill Set (Guide/Manual) And additional facilities like: Nearest Shelter Location (& have Data of all the people who stayed) Nearest Food Supply Contacting Family Members (for those who are far from the victim)
How we built it:
It's a non-technical Idea of members collecting and brainstorming and recollecting suggestions of mentors. Designed UI for the portal
Challenges we ran into:
Finding sources to connect the troops and victims without internet through SMS/Emergency call system. Team work, Brainstorming conflicts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Got an adorable mind set of what solution could be applied for solving this huge issue offered to us.
