Connect to Conquer

Inspiration

We were inspired by the fact that 75% of foster students want to go to college, but only 3% get in. They have the motivation, but not the means, and we wanted to help them with that.

What it does

This website helps foster youth make it to college with information about the means and the motivations with encouragement.

How I built it

We used HTML5 with Sublime and Notepad++.

Challenges I ran into

We had trouble connecting all of the pages together, but eventually succeeded in the end.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Our semi-working site gives users access to external websites for more information and connects foster youth and mentors from around the world for support and encouragement with people in similar situations.

What I learned

We learned more about HTML5 and the functions we could code, since we had no prior experience. We also learned more about the issues and challenges that foster students face, and how we can help them.
