Inspiration

we made this app because we saw many people not having jobs anymore in this technology based world, so we decided to make job finding a little bit easier than it wa sin the past by making Connect. With our app, we could make quite an impact in the job industry. People won't need to go find jobs. Instead, they could now choose what job they want and just with a few taps, they could receive an email that would tell them when the interview will be held and if they get accepted or not.

What it does

Connect makes lives easier by letting people apply for jobs faster than ever before. Our app would help so many people that struggle with work distance and not being able to go to the designated area just to apply for a job they don't even know would pass. Now, with our app "Connect", in jsut a few taps, you could apply for a job and just wait a few business days to get an email from the desired company.

How we built it

We started the project with the design app Figma. At first, we didn't really know anything about Figma. This was our first time using figma to design, and it wasn't easy. It took us around 4 hours to get used to Figma and took a whole 8 hours of work just to complete our design, but it was worth it. The design taht we came up with is not only eye catching, but also very simple. We also used javascript, html and CSS to make the app.

Challenges we ran into

There were so many challenged that we ran into, from not knowing how figma works at all, to not even being able to commit in Github. This experience was very tiring, but very fun. We went through so much hardship with our figma design but then saw another group that made animations with just simple codes they constructed in a few minutes. it truly destroyed us how bad we are at this. But we didn't give up. We kept on trying and at last finished our design in figma, which turned out pretty well. We also only knew a bit of javascript and that proved to be one of the greatest challenge in this competition. None of us knew how to make html and CSS codes either, so that didn't help us at all. But atlaest, we tried ou very best, witht he sleepless nights to make this application of ours.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We as a team are very proud of the application we made. Although it isn't complete yet, but the design and the idea we came up with is something to be proud of. We ofcourse are very proud of ourselves, managing to overcome the lack of experience with our tenacity and passion to win this challenge. It might not be the best project that has been submitted by highschoolers in this competition, but it sure was one of the best projects we have ever made. And that is enough to make me feel like a proud student.

What we learned

We learnt alot of things. from teamwork, communication, and to prepare thoroughly before we enter a competition. We learnt to never underestimate our competitors every again and to always help those in need, even if we are up against eachother in a competition.

What's next for Connect

We will try to keep improving our application and hopefully making it a full blown app that people can actually use to get jobs in the near future. We hope to keep improving and we hope that our demo that we made today will prove to be useful to the world in the future.
