Connect Four Bot Project
Inspiration
As enthusiasts of both AI and classic games, we were inspired to create a Connect Four bot that could offer a challenging and engaging experience for players. We wanted to explore how advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques could be applied to a familiar game like Connect Four.
Learning Experience
Throughout the project, we learned a great deal about game theory, algorithm optimization, and machine learning. We delved into various strategies for evaluating game states, predicting opponent moves, and making optimal decisions in real-time.
Building Process
We began by designing the architecture of our bot, incorporating algorithms for board evaluation, move prediction, and decision-making. We implemented these algorithms using Python and leveraged libraries like NumPy and TensorFlow for efficient computation and machine learning tasks.
Challenges Faced
One of the main challenges we faced was optimizing the performance of our bot to handle the vast search space of Connect Four efficiently. We experimented with pruning techniques, heuristic evaluations, and parallelization to enhance the bot's speed and effectiveness. Additionally, fine-tuning the machine learning models to adapt to different playing styles and strategies posed another significant challenge.
