Connect 4 Discord Bot

Inspiration

We've all been in a boring discord server before, no one is speaking, nothing interesting is happening... You start to wonder what am I even doing here?! We'll we have felt your pain so we created a bot that starts a Connect 4 game for you and your friends to spice up these boring times.

What it does

Starts a game of Connect 4 in the server for you and another player (1v1)

Challenges we ran into

Many times our code did not function the way we wanted to, but we found new ways and solutions to the problems.

What's next for Connect 4 Discord Bot

We plan to tighten up the user interface, add an option to play single-player against the bot and create more games that the bot can play!

I worked on the coding of the bot itself, and combining the functions to place pieces and check if there is a winner with the bot, using discord.py

I coded the methods that checks if there is a winner, these methods are: horCheck, vertCheck and the DiagCheck methods. I also worked on the logic of the game and made pseudo code which was later converted into the actual code
