Inspiration

Sales teams usually learn about buyer pain after the buying window has already opened. But companies publish dated clues—new licences, hiring, permits, postmortems, technology changes, and reviews—before a sales call. I built Confession Source Explorer to turn that scattered evidence into a timely, relevant first move.

What it does

Confession Source Explorer is a browser-based library of 15 industry signal maps. Pick an industry and it shows the public source where buyers confess pressure, a decoder from signal → what is broken → what they may buy, and a mini signal loop that turns one event into a practical watch plan.

Its Signal Brief exporter turns an industry, buyer role, and offer into a print-ready one-page brief: source, operational read, relevant opening line, and 30-day watch plan.

For example, a newly granted e-money licence is not just fintech news. It means the go-to-market clock has started and payment operations are about to become urgent.

How I built it

This is a dependency-free static web app: structured signal-source data, search and industry selection, interactive decoders, a five-criteria source scorecard, and a print-ready Signal Brief. It deploys to GitHub Pages and has no account, API, or infrastructure dependency—so judges can use it immediately.

Codex + GPT-5.6

I built and iterated the product in Codex with GPT-5.6: shaping the information architecture, turning the source library into reusable data, implementing responsive interactions, refining the visual system, and adding the Signal Brief / PDF workflow. Codex helped take a private working document to a finished, runnable product during Build Week.

Challenge and lesson

The challenge was making a sales-intelligence method useful without exposing the private execution layer behind it. The answer is deliberate constraint: one sharp source per industry, evaluated against five requirements—public, dated, structured, frequent, and causal.

Impact

The tool is for founders, sales teams, and operators who want outreach to start with evidence rather than assumptions: find the public confession, understand the pressure, and lead with a move that is timely enough to matter.
