Confessify – Anonymous AI Confession Booth

🤯 Inspiration

I’ve always enjoyed scrolling through Reddit’s anonymous confession threads — they’re awkward, hilarious, and brutally honest. I wanted to create a space where anyone could share something weird or embarrassing and get an unexpected reaction from an AI. That’s where Confessify was born — an AI-powered confession booth where users get roasted, comforted, or mocked by a virtual stand-up comedian.

🤖 What it does

Confessify allows users to anonymously type a confession and choose how they want the AI to respond — kindly, savagely, or wickedly. The app uses Gemini to generate a short, funny 3-sentence reaction. The result? A meme-worthy response you can laugh at or cry about — or both. It's designed to be weird, viral, and very shareable.

🛠️ How I built it

I built Confessify using Bolt.new, a visual low-code platform. The UI includes:

• A text input for confessions
• A dropdown to select the response mood (Roast Me, Be Nice, Make it Worse)
• A button that triggers an LLM (Gemini) to generate a funny reaction
• A display box for the AI’s reply

I used only one Bolt prompt to build the entire app because of usage limits, so I designed all the logic, UI, and prompt flow in one go.

🧗 Challenges I ran into

• Limited Bolt prompt uses: I had only two chances to build the full app, so I had to plan everything in advance and write a perfect prompt.
• Tavus API: I planned to generate AI video confessions but couldn’t get Tavus API access in time, so I added a placeholder for it.
• Time crunch: I completed the entire app in less than 24 hours, from idea to execution.

🏆 Accomplishments that I'm proud of

• Built a full AI-powered, meme-worthy app in just one prompt
• Designed a complete user experience with no backend or login
• Came up with a unique, funny idea that perfectly fits the “Silly Sh!t” track

📚 What I learned

• How to work efficiently within tight constraints and limited tools
• How to engineer a dynamic AI prompt that changes tone based on user input
• That building something silly and delightful can be just as challenging — and rewarding — as building something serious
