Inspiration
The shift to remote and hybrid work exposed major limitations in existing conferencing tools — unreliable performance at scale, poor integration across productivity suites, and high costs for large events. We envisioned a platform that leverag the power of Google’s ecosystem to reduce effort for holding conference or event with similiar needs. In short, G-Conf is a native Google-powered solution that makes hosting professional, engaging, and large-scale online conferences seamless and affordable.
What it does
G-Conf is a full-featured online conference platform that supports virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. The core aim is to free organizer/participants from the tedious process of submitting, reviewing, and publishing. In the long run, it allows organizers to host keynotes, breakout sessions, networking, exhibitions, and interactive workshops with thousands of attendees. Participants can join from any device with a consistent, branded experience, while organizers benefit from powerful management tools.
Core featuress:
- Utilizing existing Google account, no need for registration.
- Seamless online workflow, from writing, submitting, to managing peronal Google scholar record, all done on Google Workspace.
- Low effort for reviewer and easy publishing conference books. (Easy editing if you're even adopting a Google doc format)
How we built it
We built G-Conf entirely on Google Cloud Platform for maximum scalability and reliability.
Backend: Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for container orchestration and auto-scaling Real-time features: Firebase for live chat, presence, and synchronization Media: Google Meet APIs combined with Cloud Media Services for video processing AI/ML: Google Cloud Vertex AI for transcription, translation, and intelligent insights Storage & Analytics: Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery for recordings and event analytics Authentication: Google Identity and IAM for secure access Frontend: Modern React/Next.js application with responsive design
The architecture is designed to be modular, allowing easy addition of new features and horizontal scaling during large events.
