The Department of Surface Transport reports an average of 7,000 weather related deaths per year on US highways-- 21% of motor vehicle related deaths per year. That’s the size of Stanford’s undergraduate student body. That’s a big problem--but it shouldn't be.
Condition.IQ is a simple application designed to let drivers know when inclement weather is imminent--so they can be prepared, and adjust their driving accordingly.
Using Toyota's API for location, and forecast.io for weather, our application automatically and gently reminds the driver that changes in driving conditions are nearby.
Condition.IQ shouldn’t be noticed until it has to be. A simple way of keeping the driver alert, but not distracting them from the road. In this small way, we think we can make an actual difference in driver safety.
