I'm Nicolas from Taoyuan, Taiwan, currently studying in National Taiwan University as a senior. In my childhood, Detective Conan is one of my favorite anime. I spend tons of enjoyable time with my family and friends watching the anime. Accordingly, I'm delighted to build Conan Wall to connect other Conan fans in the world together to share our favorite Conan moments.
What it does
Conan Wall is a decentralized social networking platform where users can submit their favorite Conan moment on Solana blockchain. However, users are required to connect their wallet to the website in order to view or submit the GIF link.
How we built it
I use React as the frontend library to build the website stylings and basic logics of state, loading etc. Turning to the backend, I use Anchor framework to build Solana Rust program which stores data of the submitted GIF links. Lastly, I use Render to deploy the website and call the deployed Rust program in the web app.
Challenges we ran into
Tons of debugging, I ran into npm package outdated problems, node version problems and had to read tons of documents to resolve some tiny issues. Anyway, it definitely worths it to do so!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
To build the app from scratch in the extremely short amount of time is unbelievable. I barely slept during the weekend haha. But I'm a aspiring Solana developer, nothing could stop me from coding in the Web3 ecosystem :)
What we learned
Patience and consistency .
What's next for Conan Wall
It has already been off localhost! Everyone could use the website to share their favorite Conan moments with other fellas in the Web3 world!
