Inspiration
The main driving force behind this project was seeing people, especially in urban settings, devoid of real connections. With rising apartment living and restrictions on pets in many places, an MR pet seemed like the next best thing. This wasn't just about creating a digital companion but about crafting experiences that touch the human soul.
What it does
ComsmoCompanion offers users a personalized MR pet that interacts in real-time with its surroundings and the user. Based on initial preferences and ongoing interactions, each ComsmoCompanion evolves, developing its unique personalities, ensuring no two pets are the same. Through MR technology, it seamlessly integrates into daily life, offering companionship, reminders, and even interacting with other smart devices at home.
How we built it
Platform & Tools: We primarily utilized Unity3D for its visual representations, integrating it with specialized MR toolkits tailored for different MR glasses in the market.
AI Integration: Connected to OpenAI's GPT, each ComsmoCompanion is equipped with conversational intelligence, allowing it to communicate and learn from its user.
User Feedback: Continuous prototyping and beta testing were essential. Feedback loops with early adopters played a pivotal role in refining the interaction dynamics.
Challenges we ran into
Device Diversity: Catering to various MR devices with different capabilities meant a fragmented development process.
Real-time Interactivity: Ensuring that ComsmoCompanion could recognize and interact with countless real-world objects was a significant challenge.
Data Privacy & Security: Protecting user interactions and ensuring data isn't misused was paramount, leading to several iterations of our security protocols.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Personalized Experience: Proudly, no two ComsmoCompanions are the same. Their evolution based on user interaction is truly revolutionary.
Integration with Smart Homes: ComsmoCompanion isn't just a pet; it's a smart home companion. It can control lights, play music, and even set reminders.
Positive User Feedback: Heartwarming stories from beta users about how ComsmoCompanio
