Inspiration

This is the display of data I spent months collecting as a research assistant, including the professors at computer science programs, the number of citations they have, and scraped citation measures from their Google Scholar page. The purpose of this data is to predict peer review scores based on computer science departments' citation values. This page serves as a method of visualizing the data.

This is part of a research project that is an extension of a previous project. Data collection methodolody and relevant information can be found here.

What it does

The page displays charts of the data. The charts filter data based on fields.

How we built it

It is built with Microsoft Excel, Python, pandas, and Streamlit.

Challenges we ran into

Filtering using pandas was the main difficulty. Using Streamlit is surprisingly easy. The documentation is really good.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Figuring out the minimum and maximum sliders, and filtering the professor ranks.

What we learned

I learned that I can use APIs to make life easier.

What's next for Computer Science Department Professors' Citations Data View

I want to add more visualizations and filters!
