Inspiration
A number of years ago a friend and I were looking for a laptop and an Arduino. The laptop wasn't​ just any laptop, but a high end gaming laptop. Unfortunately current ways of shopping only let us find what's available but not what we wanted. We later realized that this problem wasn't limited to electronics, it spanned from clothing to books and everything in between. People want to buy items that aren't necessarily available in our country. After years of searching we found out that there was a whole market that only few knew about and the general public was unaware of. The market of importing goods through orders. Our app is a way of leveraging this market so that users will no longer have to search for what they want instead they'll be able to post the item they need and different people (normal travelers, professional importers) can propose to import it for them at a price. A bidding system will give the customers the possibility to choose the best importer with the best price and specifications.
What it does
It starts with a user posting an item they want to buy but not available in the current market. Importers, retailers or any individual that has the possibility of travelling overseas goes through the list of customer item requests and chooses whichever is convenient for him to import and decides on a price and time of item delivery and enters that information into our app. The customer later goes through the list of possible importers comparing price, rating, timelines (and more) and decides on who should get him/her the item. Upon delivery the customer can rate the importer and that should let us filter bad importers from trustworthy ones.
