Inspiration
This school year we experienced a lot of changes in our modes of learning. We went from in-person, to online, and right now we are in the transition back to in-person learning. Having to transition back to the live lectures may be hard for some people that struggle to take notes, and really benefited from having lecture videos. The option to pause videos to take down what the teacher said, or even comprehend the lecture then copy notes is taken away from students when we go back to in-person learning.
What it does
This project writes your notes for you. we really wanted to monopolize on assembly AI's functions, and when we heard that the API generates summaries for the transcript we knew that this would be a perfect tool to help us bring our idea to life.
How we built it
With the help of assemblyAI, Steamlit, and many other tutorials.
Challenges we ran into
one of the biggest challenges we faced were downloading many of the packages we need for our code to run.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This was some of our first time building a site from pure code so we are extremely proud of that. It was truly amazing seeing our lines of code transformed into functional objects.
What we learned
Coming into this many of our team members had no idea what an API was. However, while working with AssemblyAi we were able to expand our knowledge.
What's next for Composition VoiceBook
because of the time constraints, we did not get to optimize our coding history, so we would like to work more on the back end of this project.
