Inspiration
We were inspired by the breathtaking natural wonder known as “Blue Tears” in Tainan, Taiwan — a bioluminescent ocean phenomenon caused by microscopic plankton glowing at night. The combination of nature’s mystery and human emotion moved us to reimagine it through the lens of AI, blending science, art, and imagination.
What it does
This AI-generated video recreates the mesmerizing glow of the Blue Tears surrounding the Tree of Life Chapel, symbolizing rebirth, connection, and the pulse of life between humans and nature. It transforms real landscapes into a cinematic dreamscape filled with emotional resonance and surreal beauty.
How we built it
We used AI image synthesis tools to generate multiple layers of sea, light, and architecture — then combined them through Runway / Veo / Kling motion design workflows. Color grading and particle effects were applied to emphasize bioluminescence and create a living, breathing ocean of light.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was balancing realism and fantasy — ensuring the glowing ocean looked natural yet magical, and that the Tree of Life symbol blended harmoniously into the real Tainan coastline. Maintaining consistency across AI frames was also a technical obstacle.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a visually stunning and emotionally moving short film that celebrates Taiwan’s coastal beauty through AI innovation. The final result feels like a dream that bridges technology, nature, and spirituality.
What we learned
We learned that AI is not just a tool — it’s a collaborator that helps transform invisible emotions into visual form. Through countless iterations, we discovered the power of merging cultural storytelling with AI cinematic design.
What's next for Competition work-Tainan Blue Tears
Next, we plan to expand this concept into a series of AI environmental artworks highlighting Taiwan’s unique natural wonders — from mountains to oceans — promoting both creative technology and environmental awareness worldwide.
