Competitive intelligence is essential but broken. Startups and investors need to understand competitors, but today it is either manual and time-consuming or locked behind expensive analyst teams and tools. I wanted to prove that an autonomous AI agent could do this work continuously, accurately, and affordably.

What it does

CompeteIQ is an autonomous competitive intelligence agent that monitors competitor websites every 6 hours.

With one click, it: • Scrapes competitor pricing, features, G2 ratings, and customer data • Analyzes everything using multi-model AI • Identifies market gaps, pricing opportunities, and strategic insights • Displays results in a live dashboard

In 30 seconds, CompeteIQ produces a report that would normally take an analyst 8 hours.

How we built it

CompeteIQ was built end to end as a solo project using: • TinyFish for autonomous web scraping • Yutori for multi-model AI analysis • Python for orchestration and scheduling • Retool for the live dashboard

The system runs fully autonomously on a recurring schedule.

Challenges we ran into • Handling different website structures during scraping • Turning raw data into actionable insights instead of noise • Coordinating multiple AI and automation steps reliably • Building a complete product solo within hackathon time limits

Accomplishments that we’re proud of • Built a fully autonomous competitive intelligence agent solo • Reduced hours of manual research to seconds • Delivered real insights instead of static data • Created a clear alternative to expensive analyst-driven tools

What we learned • End-to-end ownership makes AI agents far more valuable • Insight quality matters more than data volume • Multi-model AI dramatically improves analysis • Users want decisions, not spreadsheets

What’s next for CompeteIQ • Add more data sources like job postings and changelogs • Enable alerts for pricing and feature changes • Expand support for VCs and portfolio-level views • Turn the prototype into a scalable SaaS product
